Although the Adidas NMD Women no longer boasts “darling” or “grail” status among many sneaker collectors, the silhouette continues to help the Three Stripes bring BOOST-cushioning to the masses. For its latest ensemble, the lifestyle-oriented sneaker has turned back the clock to its original “Core Black/Cloud White” ensemble coupled with red and blue EVA midsole plugs.
In comes the Adidas NMD Men, the next chapter of the NMD movement. While the upper still employs that sock-like upper, the sole appears to have been completely changed. The cushioning is now entirely encased by a hefty opaque frame, a large departure from the fully exposed BOOST in all preceding Adidas NMD Sale models. And instead of the “bumpers”, adidas opts for a completely different style of protrusions at the fore-foot and heel. The outsole itself is far more pronounced, with visible traction teeth appearing on the outer edges.
While the adidas NMD has come a long way since its inception back in 2015, the model is now quite far from being at the level of popularity it had achieved during its prime. However, the Three Stripes may be on a mission to usher in a comeback era for the silhouette by bringing back the OG black and white Adidas NMD Cheap. The iconic red and blue midsole plug pairing of the OG styles will also be applied to a “Grey Four” NMD R1, which will be dropping on the same day.
